Program Dates

The Distinguished Young Women ( DYW) of Fayette County program is a local scholarship program for young women in Fayette County who are rising seniors in high school. All participants must live in Fayette County. We are part of the one of the oldest and largest scholarship programs in the U.S. The Distinguished Young Women of America Scholarship Program. This is a non-profit organization that has been providing scholarship opportunities to young women for more than 60 years. One of the main goals of DYW is to award college scholarships to outstanding young women who excel in the areas of academics, leadership, fitness, talent (generally a performing arts talent) and/ or public speaking. Angie Xiao, a senior from Paul Laurence Dunbar, has been selected as our representative for the Class of 2020. If you will graduate in the year 2021, you are eligible to participate the Fayette County DYW. Please sign up online at www.distinguishedyw.org by July 15, 2020 and we will reach out to you with further details about being a participant in our program. Our show date this year is Saturday, September 26th at 6:30 p.m. Our showcase is for parents and participants only due to COVID-19 restrictions.
